Its various analog and digital connectivity allow users to output audio in a multitude of ways via S/pdif, Adat optical, and Db25. It features high-performance, low-latency A-D/d-A conversion, Red Evolution mic preamps, ultra-low roundtrip latency and expansion over Dante for networked audio. Since Red 16Line provides both Digi Link and Thunderbolt connections, it's now easier than ever to switch from Pro Tools HD to a second Daw, without the need to reconfigure option cards in the interface.

Simply change the host mode either in the remote-control software or on the device front panel and change DAWs in seconds. With dual-port Dante connectivity, you will be able to expand your studio over Ethernet for more channels at higher sample rates, anywhere in your network, at lower latency and lower cost. NOTE: Due to the inconsistent performance of Thunderbolt chipsets on Windows computers, Focusrite has not released a driver for Red 4Pre, Red 8Pre or Red 16Line to enable performance with Windows.

Focusrite prides themselves on the quality and performance of their products. In the case of Thunderbolt drivers for Windows, they cannot guarantee a high level of performance with Windows.
